Waaaay too many non-free images on this article

[edit]

This article is extremely over the top with the number of non-free images. This article is now the second highest user of non-free images on the entire project of over 6 million articles. Please see WP:NFLISTS. The non-free image use here needs to be eliminated, or reduced to a single image that shows several sets at once. courtesy ping to @Itdoesntmatteranymore: --Hammersoft (talk) 23:04, 4 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you’re referring to the set symbols, they are a necessary part of identifying cards, and WotC/Hasbro has not filed a copyright strike as far as I can tell. Some of the symbols aren’t even copyright-able (such as the sixth edition symbol). 2601:405:4180:CF00:78A2:B389:613F:A8AD (talk) 20:26, 31 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Origins is not a core set

[edit]

While Origins was a July release, it broke many of the core set guidelines and is generally not considered a core set. It was specifically not included in the Core Set Constructed format. 2601:405:4180:CF00:78A2:B389:613F:A8AD (talk) 20:29, 31 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This is just plain wrong. Despite not adhering to Core Set naming conventions, Magic Origins was designed as and always considered a Core Set. As is common for Core Sets the set doesn't feature a coherent theme, a prominent story arc or a single setting. A fanmade format that didn't even take off like "Core Set Constructed" isn't really a meaningful way to determine whether Origins is a Core Set, although as far as I can tell Core Set Constructed would have included Origins anyway.
